How to choose the right vape equipment in 2021 ?

A rich and varied range of vape equipment is available on the market. This is aimed at satisfying different uses, different experience levels and different consumer preferences. To simplify your view, let's keep it simple by dividing this discussion into three specific classifications: the beginner level to start with, the intermediate level, and the advanced level, corresponding to the most hardcore vape enthusiasts.
Niveau débutant
Beginner level
Pods, AIOs (All-in-One) or PodMods are the perfect models for starting out with vape.
These are proprietary systems, where the Accu part and the tank part (pod, cartridge or podTank) are designed to work together and are not interchangeable. The on-board electronics ensure comfort and safety for the consumer. In any case, it is preferable to opt for a material with replaceable coil, as this is one of the essential consumables, which also allows you to adjust the volume of vape and the draw.
Pod: minimalist, simple and discreet, it is ideal for beginners. But it can also be used as a back-up by an experienced vapoteur. Nevertheless, it requires regular replacement of the entire tank when the coil is at the end of its life.
AIO: designed in one piece, the tank is integrated. It is a compact device with excellent autonomy most of the time, and offers a wider choice of coils.
PodMod: made in two parts, it can be fitted with another atomizer to replace the PodTank, using an adapter on the battery part.
This table allows you to compare their characteristics at a glance:
Niveau intermédiaire
Intermediate level
All the equipment presented in this section consists of two parts: the power pack (also called box or mod), with an integrated or removable battery, topped by an atomizer (tank) screwed to the box by a standard attachment called 510. The advantage of this standard attachment system is simple: it is possible to interchange atomizers on the boxes, including those of another brand (with the only limit being its diameter).
The mod can take the form of a tube or a box, always including an electronic circuit to regulate the current and modify the settings. And of course, no worries, it has all the necessary tools to ensure safety and excellent operation. It is equipped with a display that shows all the values and settings related to your vape. The atomizer can be a clearomizer (with disposable and replaceable coils) or a rebuildable (mounting of the coil and calibration being done by the consumer).
Boxes with built-in batteries are simply recharged from the mains with a small power pack (smartphone type) and USB cable. Boxes with removable batteries, on the other hand, require a dedicated battery charger (although charging via USB is almost always possible for troubleshooting).
Manufacturers often offer a matching Mod + atomizer kit to make it easier for you to buy. Offering a good autonomy, balanced performance while remaining scalable, this equipment surprises and seduces logically. Nothing will prevent you from buying a second atomizer to screw on the box.
This table allows you to compare their advantages at a glance:
Advanced level
Here, you will face the Valhalla of the vapoteur, double, triple, quadruple batteries boxes, mechas, PWM and other Bottom-Feed with majestic performance, most phenomenal. These devices have more sophisticated settings and provide a certain amount of vape pleasure.
Bottom-Feed: The box integrates, in addition to the battery, a flexible vial of large capacity (8-10ml). By pressing it, the e-liquid is propelled into a tube opening at the base of the atomizer, which will fill it through the screw 510 drilled. This type of box is usually associated with a dripper (atomizer without tank).
Mecha: box without electronics. The power is delivered by the battery itself directly linked to the value in ohms of the coil. No protection will be present, it is therefore reserved for the best experts, having a fine and sure knowledge of the Ohm's law and the performances of the batteries.
PWM (Pulse Width Modulation): an electronic box that almost always has no screen and whose power setting is in Volts only (unlike all the others in Watts).
Once again, the table sums it all up:
