How to choose your atomizer ?

atomiseursThe choice of an atomizer depends largely on the user's experience and personal preferences. There are two main categories : clearomizers (clearos), which are equipped with ready-made coils that only need to be screwed on or inserted, and rebuildables, on which you have to do the assembly yourself with a coil and cotton. Each of these possibilities offers advantages and disadvantages to be understood.

First of all, the draw of the atomizer will determine the type of vape associated : the tight draw (MTL = Mouth To Lung), producing little steam, but offering a hit in the throat more pronounced, highly recommended for beginners and the air draw (DTL = Direct To Lung) generating a denser and hotter steam; draw recommended for vapoteurs already experienced.

When you begin, a spray with a tight draw will allow you to find the usual draw of a cigarette, allowing you to obtain a higher nicotine dosage for a more effective smoking cessation. On the other hand, an atomiser that is too airy will make you cough, producing too much steam. In addition, this type of spray will not have the same effectiveness of withdrawal because of the nicotine dosage necessarily lower.

Clearos :

Advantages :

- Easy to use, no assembly skills required.

- Quick replacement of a worn out coil.

- Good choice of coils for each model of clearo.

Disadvantages :

- Durability of coils often too short.

- Less consistent flavour reproduction compared to a rebuildable.

- Budget coils to take into account.

Suggestions :

Tight draw:

- Aspire Nautilus GT and GT Mini

- Innokin Zlide, Zenith and Zenith II

Aerial draw :

- GeekVape Zeus Subohm and Z Max

- VapeFiy Kriemhild and Kriemhild II

- HorizonTech Falcon King, Falcon II and Sakerz

Reconstructibles :

Reconstructibles :

Advantages:

- Low budget, a coil of resistive wire or a box of coils and cotton are inexpensive.

- Infinite variations of assembly possible on the same atomizer.

- Just a coil cleaning (dry burn) and cotton replacement to start again.

- Optimal restitution of flavors

Disadvantages :

- Learning curve necessary to master the assembly and cotonnage.

- Time required for complete assembly.

- A minimum of tools is required.

To assemble a rebuildable, the user can use a coil of resistive wire to shape his own coil by choosing the diameter and the number of turns (which will influence the final coil and therefore the power of adapted vape). To start without hassle, you can turn to a box of ready-made coils. You will only have to screw them on. There are a multitude of cottons on offer, but the cotton wool ones will offer just the right amount to insert into the coil, which will also be easier to start with.

Suggestions:

The choice is vast, both in types of atomizers (RDA, RTA, RDTA) and setups (single coil, dual coils, mesh). The atomisers suggested here are single coil atos that are easy to mount and cotton.

Tight / restrictive draw:

- BDVape Precisio- BP Mods Pioneer

- ThunderHead Creations Tauren MTL

- Hellvape Vertex

Aerial draw

- Augvape Druga

- VandyVape Kylin Mini V2

- QP Design Juggerknot MR
