- Chain Vaping: The fact of chaining Puffs at a sustained rate.
- Chipset: all the components of a printed circuit in a box, designed to regulate the current.
- Clearomiser: an atomiser that uses screw-in coils, unlike a Reconstructible
- Cloud Chasing: a vaping practice that favours the production of a large amount of vapour over the faithful reproduction of flavours.
- Coil: a spring resistance designed to heat up under the electrical action and vaporise the Juice.
- Connector 510: the threaded base on a box or tube that is designed to hold the atomizer.
- CT (Temperature Control, or TC): a vape mode that regulates the temperature of the vapour for a given wattage.
- Deck: the part of the Atomiser that supports the Assembly, consisting of the Posts, Air Holes and Juice Holes.
- DIY (Do It Yourself): making your own Juices by combining various ingredients (Base, Flavour Boosters).
- Drip Tip: the mouthpiece of the Atomizer from which the vapour comes out (see 510 and 810).
- Dripper (or RDA): a family of Atomizers, often of the Reconstructible type, which do not have a Tank.
- Dry Burn: cleaning technique that consists of dry burning (without cotton) the residues deposited on the Coil.
- Dry Hit: very unpleasant dry puff on cotton insufficiently supplied with Juice
- DTL (Direct To Lung): refers to air-draft atomisers, sometimes suffixed with R for restrictive.
- Dual: refers to either a dual coil assembly or a dual battery box.
- Flush: refers to the aesthetic suitability of a setup, with the Atomiser not protruding from the edges of the Box.
- Juice (or e-liquid): composed of Base, Flavourings, Nicotine, it is intended to produce steam by vaporization.
- Juice Control: a device found in some Atomisers that regulates the supply of Juice.
- Juice Hole(s): hole(s) on the Deck for feeding the cotton with Juice.
- Hit: sensation of steam passing through the throat, giving a little tingle, linked to the ratio of PG in the Juice.
- Hot Spot: refers to an area of the Coil that reddens faster than the rest and is the result of poor Roasting.
- Hybrid: refers to a Box or Mecha tube that does not have a 510 connector, and where the 510 pin of the Atomiser is in direct contact with the pole of the Battery.
- Mecha(nique): refers to a family of boxes or tubes that are NOT regulated, the power supply being direct from the Accu.
- Mesh: literally mesh, designates the coils elements formed by a fine grid.
- Mod: refers to a family of regulated boxes or tubes with a Chipset.
- Montage: refers to the installation of the Coil (and by extension the cotton) on the Deck.
- MTL (Mouth To Lung): refers to tight draw atomisers, requiring reduced power.
- Nicotine: an alkaloid naturally present in tobacco leaves, addictive but not harmful, released as a psychoactive substance and generally present in Juices.
- Ohm: a unit of measurement for the resistance of a coil or resistor.
- Passthrough: technology that allows a box to be used while it is charging.
- PAV : ready-made Juice, as opposed to DIY.00
- Tray: see Deck.
- Pin 510: the central screw in the threaded base of an atomiser that connects the positive pole.
- PG (Propylene Glycol): the proportional component of a Base and responsible for the Hit.
- Post(s): refers to the supports of the Deck that hold the Coil(s).
- Postless: literally without Posts, the legs of the Coils being fixed in holes of the Deck.
- Pre-Heat: a technique that applies increased power to the Coil(s) or Resistance for a very short period of time to ensure a quicker heat up.
- Power Vaping: a vaping technique that creates maximum vapour at the expense of flavour.
- Puff: corresponds to the aspiration of a puff.
